The 12th of January, which is the birthday of one of India’s brightest spiritual luminaries, Swami Vivekananda, has been proclaimed as National Youth Day. To mark the 152nd birth anniversary celebration of this world-renowned leader, a value-based self-empowerment workshop for the youth- ADVAYA 2015, was organized on this day from 10 am onwards at the Nerul Ashram in collaboration with Illumine Knowledge Resources Pvt Ltd., a knowledge enablement lab, based in Mumbai.
After the lighting of the lamp, the team of four ‘Knowledge Associates’ meticulously went about their task, interacting with around 100 students of Class 7 of Amrita Vidyalayam. Through a series of visual presentations based on Swami Vivekananda’s life and his ideals, the team got the students to think and come up with novel solutions to various everyday challenges that they faced. The brainstorming session evoked interesting responses from the students. A role-play session followed, wherein students were provided simulations of real- life situations to enact. The students were encouraged to put on their thinking caps and come up with a variety of perspectives.
The profound ideals and principles of Swami Vivekananda, presented in a lucid manner, sent across an earnest message to the youth. It is appropriate to recall his ‘life-transforming line’: ‘Arise, Awake, and stop not till the goal is achieved.’ All in all, ADVAYA 2015 turned out to be a befitting tribute to this exemplary spiritual leader.
