Amrita Kuteeram – Free housing for the poor and homeless

The Ashram, in association with the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, has constructed and handed over 688 tenements to poor people in the Ajanta Nagar area in Akurdi.

Amrita Vidyalayam– Value based Education

Two schools are run by the M.A. Math in Pune in Nigdi and Baneshwar.

These schools are affiliated to the Maharashtra Board. The schools have become one of the renowned schools in this area in a short span of time, with consistent results close to 100% in the Board Exams every year. Along with academics, there is also equal focus on activities that help a student to evolve physically, mentally, socially and spiritually.

Green Friends – Initiative for Environmental care and protection

Green Friends is an organization established by the Ashram for the preservation and protection of the environment. The organization was built upon the ethos that it is our dharma to take care of Nature because of the simple reason that she is in fact our true mother. In Pune, Green friends had taken up a Government Hospital for tree planatation.This activity involved planting of saplings and nurturing them for 2 years. GreenFriends, Pune has also been involving and encouraging students in tree plantation programmes.

Amrita Nidhi – Pension for poor people

Under this scheme, in Pune, around 50 destitute women and handicapped persons are benefited by monthly pension for life.

Amrita Merit cum Need Scholarships

More than 50 students are provided scholarships which cover their fees for the entire year. Students are selected based on the criteria of merit and need.

Amrita Religious Library

The Library has a vast collection of books in various sections and many languages.

The main sections are – Biography, Scriptures, Ashram publications, Philosophy, Occult, Astrology, New Age, and Vedanta.

Amrita Charitable Clinic

A charitable clinic is run in the Ashram premises for poor and needy people which offers free or concessional treatment to the patients

Medical Camps

Medical camps are conducted in association with renowned hospitals, in the area of Ajanta Nagar. These camps, being conducted for the past 5 years, also offer free medicines to the needy and concessions on treatments at the hospitals.

Integrated Amrita Meditation

Intensive Meditation Camps are conducted by experts from the Ashram on a regular basis. These camps have been found to help the participants in spiritual and material advancements. Besides, regular Meditation sessions are held every Thursday in the Ashram premises.

Amrita Chetana – Programme for development of Slum children

This programme, being conducted for three years, endeavors to reduce the drop out rate in slum areas and also to help them evolve in their studies and society. Currently, more than 80 students are being benefited by the project.

Amrita Santhwanam – Caring for the old and abandoned

There are people who cannot work and who don’t have anyone to take care of them. We are providing basic food kits consisting of Rice, Wheat and Dal, on a monthly basis to 40 such poor, needy and abandoned people in and around Nigdi.
