After weeks of hectic preparations, Mumbai devotees waited eagerly to have that one glimpse of Amma, as She alighted from her camper in the evening of Thursday, 24th March. The day coincided with Holi, the festival of colours, and everyone was in a celebratory mood. While the Kali Puja was in progress, Amma arrived on stage. After singing a few soulful bhajans, Amma distributed Prasad to one and all present.
The two days ofthe program as officially scheduled, were Saturday, 26th & Sunday, 27th March. Amma’s Pravachan, Bhajan, Dhyan & Darshan commenced after the pujas. The felicitation ceremony on the first day saw an impressive line-up of dignitaries. The keys to the newly-constructed homes for destitute villagers in Ransai village under the Amrita SeRVE project were distributed in Amma’s gracious presence. Saris were also distributed to the womenfolk of the village.
Amma’s Darshan, interspersed with cultural programs of music and dance, continued into the early hours of Monday, 28th March. In the afternoon, Amma left Mumbai for Her next tour destination, as Her children gathered around tearfully.
