Pujya Swami Amritaswarupanandapuri visited Mumbai in January 2012 and conducted a three-day spiritual program including bhajans, interactive talk sessions and meditation. All three days had the halls packed with devotees scrambling to become part of the enthralling experience.
The air was charged with sparks of divine vibrations as the crowds thronged the Shehnai Hall, Thane on January 13. Swamiji commenced his program with an interesting talk session, wherein he dwelt upon the powers of the three divine feminine forces in Indian mythology – Durga, Lakshmi and Saraswati and extolled the virtues of each of these deities – Health, Wealth and Knowledge respectively. If the talk session was an eye-opener to many, the bhajans that followed were soul-stirring. Swamiji’s mesmerizing voice left many in the audience teary-eyed! The meditation session lent serenity to the contemplative mood pervading the hall.
The Krishna Temple Hall at the ISKCON premises, Juhu was the next in Swamiji’s itinerary. The program on January 14 drew big crowds from the Western suburbs of the city. In his address to the audience, Swamiji dwelt upon the fleeting nature of the so-called worldly happiness and stressed that real happiness is a conscious decision to be happy, come what may; a decision that requires tremendous courage. Swamiji’s talk session, interspersed with interesting stories and humourous anecdotes, was followed by the bhajan session that transported all those present into a realm of Krishna Consciousness, appropriate to the venue!
As a grand finale to Swamiji’s Mumbai visit, an interactive talk session was arranged at the Mumbai Ashram, Nerul on January 15. Swamiji effortlessly answered queries put forth by eager devotees and allayed their fears and doubts. The program would have been incomplete without Swamiji rendering a few melodious bhajans. The devotional singing and meditation session were followed by the Maha Arati and the distribution of prasad by Swamiji.
