• Enlightening and Enchanting: Vilakku Puja at Borivli

The clubhouse at the Raheja Estate, Borivli was the venue of a Lalita Sahasranama Archana and Vilakku Puja on Saturday, June 2, 2012, conducted under the auspices of the Mumbai Ashram. The participants in the Puja, comprising the very young to the very old, were mostly the locals of this western suburb of Mumbai, though a good number of devotees from other parts of the city also attended with enthusiasm.

The program commenced at 4.30 p.m., with a satsang that brought out Amma’s stress upon the benefits of community prayer and group chanting in today’s troubled times. The talk session was followed by the Archana, with the chanting of the Lalita Sahasranama lending a profound serenity all around. Everyone present was absorbed in the soulful bhajan session, repeating ‘Hari Bol, Hari Bol’!  A well-guided meditation session led them to a realm of silent contemplation. The first-time participants in the Puja sat enraptured throughout the proceedings. The culmination of the Puja was the Maha Arati. A good number of devotees took turns fervently performing the Arati for Amma. After the distribution of prasad, dinner was served to all devotees.
